TELL US ABOUT YOUR BEST FRIEND

Joining Groovy Dogs starts with getting to know your dog.

Tell us who they are, what they love, what makes them happiest, and anything else you think we should know. We’ll also ask how you prefer to communicate—email, text, or phone—so we can connect with you in the way that works best for you.

Every great adventure starts with a great introduction.

It’s the beginning of the routine your dog will experience on every adventure.

SAFETY & SUPERVISION: WHAT FAMILIES SHOULD KNOW

How many team members supervise the dogs?

One trained team member may drive the Adventure Bus during transportation. Every dog is individually secured before the bus moves, and the driver will never attempt to manage a loose dog while operating the vehicle. At the adventure location, our operating model includes two team members supervising the dogs.

How are dogs secured?

Every participating dog wears an approved, properly fitted Groovy Dogs Adventure Harness. Before the bus moves, staff complete a physical Roll Call, verify every dog against the day’s roster, check all securement points and confirm that doors and barriers are secure. Dogs are loaded and unloaded individually or through a controlled, staff-directed process.

What happens if a dog becomes loose inside the bus?

The driver will safely stop the vehicle before managing the situation. The bus will not continue moving until the dog is safely secured and all equipment has been checked. If a harness, restraint, door or barrier is unsafe, the bus will not depart until the issue is corrected.

What happens if two dogs have a conflict?

Staff watch for early signs of fear, tension, resource guarding or overstimulation and use distance, redirection, changes in activity or separation when needed. If a serious altercation occurs, the rest of the Pack will be secured, the involved dogs will be safely separated and checked for injuries, and their families will be contacted promptly. Veterinary care will be obtained when necessary.

Are adventures off-leash?

Dogs are not intentionally allowed to run loose in unsecured public areas. We use appropriate fencing, harnessing, leashes, controlled transitions, identification and staff supervision. Because fencing varies by destination, Groovy Dogs cannot guarantee six-foot fencing at every location. Dogs with a known history of escaping, jumping fences or requiring specialized containment may not be appropriate for the program.

How is your team trained?

Every Groovy Dogs team member responsible for the care or handling of dogs will complete Fear Free Boarding & Daycare certification before participating in an Adventure Day.

Our commitment is always the same: thoughtful preparation, appropriate supervision, honest communication and every dog’s welfare ahead of the day’s schedule.
